- Introduction of new Board Members: Carol Stratman, Robert Cohen,
Treasurer: Tamra Frei
- Frei highlights that checking account down since May because of costs: maintenance of website, liability insurance, fee to APA to apply for certification renewal, as well as zoom yearly renewal fee..
- Total net worth is approximately similar to last May report because of dip in checking but increase in investment account.
- Frei will reimburse Young for her payment for the Zoom account on behalf of MCPP
- Young will follow up with Zoom to clarify the high cost of the account. Will follow up to clarify whether we need all the features Zoom is offering.
·Co-VPs of Programs: Miriam Lorrain and Cate Desjardins
- Update on the two speakers who are willing to do four-hour presentations
- Lorrain confirmed that both targeted speakers have agreed to speak this upcoming year.
- Desjardins is in the process of researching speakers for the ’25 and ’26 program years
- Board decided to have list of future speakers listed on the MCPP website so attendees can plan ahead.
- Board discussed different listservs to potentially advertise our events: Washtenaw Mental Health Professionals (MHP), ICSW, among others.
Issues not addressed in current meeting (from previous May meeting):
- (1) how to subsidize this event assuming longer format: i.e. Foundation funding event and/or supplemental cost to attendees.
- (2) amount of payment to potential speaker (given extended length of speaking engagement)
- Lorrain, Desjardins, Keep, and Freiband will continue to coordinate on aforementioned issues
Co-VPs of Membership: Lisa Larson and Linda Young
- Young discovered that wording for CEs for psychologists had been incorrectly worded.
- Lorrain will reword these moving forward.
- Issue revisited: how to acknowledge people who are certified Psychoanalysts conferred by MCPP (MCP at time of conferral). Board agreed that a symbol such as an asterisk should be placed next to designations.
- Board discussed whether there needs to be differentiation between certified Psychoanalysts and psychanalytic psychotherapists who completed shorter training programs. Board decided to provide alternate symbols to distinguish certified psychoanalytic psychotherapists (specifically trained by/at MCP). Weber will look into how to implement this on website
- Board proposed that Weber contact members to clarify if they have been certified by MPC as analysts, and if they would like this to be noted on the website.
Committee Reports:
Website: Karen Weber
- Have membership listed under both “Board” and “Committees’ sections of the website.
- All board members can look into this with feedback for next meeting.
- Young proposed to review “Membership page” with Larson separately for errors

- Report on June 2024 Spring Banquet: there were 18 people total at the “The Venue by 4M” in Ann Arbor.
- Avrin will consider trying different venue for next year.
- Board decided to revisit idea of making banquet open to public, beyond Membership (community listserv versus member listserv), in order to potentially increase membership and potentially foster interest in MCPP.
- Status of annual 2025 Visiting Professor in conjunction with MPS. Robert Hooberman had previously coordinated this. Young and Avrin have agreed to take on this function and coordinate this.
- Avrin touched based w Sarah Dumas (MPS liaison), who will coordinated with Avrin to make sure Visiting Professor is scheduled to visit MPPC in Ann Arbor.
- Avrin has also touched base with Hooberman to learn key information to facilitate a successfully organized event.
- Avrin confirmed $800 fee for dinner and presentation at the Mediterarano, which has served as the venue in years past.
- Freiband asked that presenter be asked to present formal paper with clinical material, unique to the presentation at MPPC, and not a duplicate of paper being presented elsewhere.

- Confirmed receipt of approval from APA for MCPP to be approved provider of CEs for psychologists for the next five years.
- Had previously followed up with LARA, that MCPP is approved by the American Psychological Association but not officially listed under them) as an organization that can sponsor continuing education credits. Lorrain had not heard back on original query, but will follow up.
