Present:

I.  Secretary’s Report - Diane Gartland – Minutes from the September 21, 2008 were approved with corrections.

II.  By-Laws – Art Brickman – Dr. Brickman presented proposed changes to the By-Laws for approval by the Board. 

A motion was made and carried to adopt changes to Article III – Officers and Board of Directors.

A discussion ensued and further changes were made to Article IV.

A motion was made and carried to adopt changes to Article IV – Committees.

A discussion ensued and further changes were made to Article V.

A motion was made and carried to adopt changes to Article V – Training and Certification.

A discussion ensued and further changes were made to Article VI.

A motion was made and carried to adopt changes to Article VI – Meetings.

A discussion ensued regarding proposed changes to ArticleVIII.

A motion was made and carried to adopt changes to Article VIII - Elections

The proposed amendments to the By-Laws will be forwarded to the membership for approval after Dr. Brickman corrects the draft.

III.  Training and Education – Robert Hooberman – no report.  Peter Wood presented the proposal for the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program.

A motion was made and carried to approve the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program proposal.

IV.  Certification – Ruth Rosenthal – A motion was made and carried to certify Sonya Frieband as an analyst.

V.  President’s Report -  Brenda Lepisto

A.  Anniversary Party – A discussion ensued regarding MPCs 20th Anniversary Party scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2009 and an outline submitted by Ellen Toronto was discussed.  A motion was made and carried to allocate $3000 for the Anniversary Party.

B.  Congratulations to Karen Baker for an outstanding Fall Conference with Joseph Lichtenberg.  A final expense report was submitted.

C.  There is a need for more individuals to come forth to assist MPC either by running for office or by volunteering in some way.

D.  Eddy Vincent, MD has donated books to MPC.  Ira Schaer is maintaining this collection.
